Jawaban : My children were not fed by my wife this morning. Soal meminta untuk mengubah kalimat aktif menjadi kalimat pasif. Kalimat soal adalah "My wife didn't feed my children this morning". (Istri saya tidak memberi makan anak-anak saya pagi tadi.) Kalimat tersebut merupakan kalimat Simple Past Tense ditandai oleh kata 'didn't'. Rumus kalimat pasif Simple Past Tense : S + was/were + not + V3 + by + O. Was digunakan untuk subjek she, he, it, I dan subjek tunggal. Were digunakan untuk subjek they, we, you dan subjek jamak. Langkah-langkah mengubah kalimat aktif menjadi kalimat pasif adalah sebagai berikut: 1. Subjek kalimat pasif diambil dari objek kalimat aktif yaitu 'my children'. 2. Tambahkan to be 'were not' karena subjek 'my children' merupakan subjek jamak. 3. Tambahkan V3 yaitu 'feed' diubah menjadi 'fed'. 4. Tambahkan 'by'. 5. Tambahkan objek yang diambil dari subjek kalimat aktif yaitu 'my wife'. 6. Tambahkan keterangan waktu 'this morning'. Berdasarkan langkah-langkah tersebut diperoleh kalimat pasif "My children were not fed by my wife this morning". (Anak-anak saya tidak diberi makan oleh istri saya pagi tadi.) Jadi, jawaban yang benar adalah : My children were not fed by my wife this morning.
