The Lion and The Goat It was a very hot day. Everybody was suffering from the heat. Everybody was very thirsty and it was hard to find water. The river and the spring were dry. It was a very hot summer. A tired lion was walking weekly. He walked everywhere to find water. “If I cannot find water soon, im going to die,” the lion thought. Not far from the lion, there was a goat. He was thirsty, too. As they walked, they came to a small fountain. How happy they were! “Hey, stay away from my fountain!” Snapped the lion. “Your fountain? Its mine!” The goat snapped back. “I got here first!” Said the lion. “No! It was I who got here first,” replied the goat. They began to fight over the fountain. Finally, they got tired of fighting. So, they took a rest. When they looked up, they saw a flock of vultures above them. “Hey, do you see the vultures?” Asked the lion. “Yes, I think they are waiting to see who is going to die. What do you think?” Said the goat. “Lets stop this fight. We’d better make friends,” said the lion. “It’s much better to make friends than to make an enemy”, replied the goat.
