"ought to" artinya sama dengan "should" kalimat diatas tidak terkesan memaksa dan seakan² kita bisa memilih untuk melakukan hal tersebut atau tidak. TETAPI, "ought to" lebih formal dan lebih old fashioned dan jarang dipakai di percakapan sehari² ex = • you SHOULD finish your homework (kamu lebih baik....) • you OUGHT TO finish your homework (kamu lebih baik...) sedangkan "had better" terkesan seperti memberi warning atau peringatan dan biasanya dilanjut dengan kalimat "before i...." jadi seperti terkesan lebih memaksa daripada should dan ought to ex= • you'd better clean your room before i told mom (mending kamu bersihin kamarmu sebelum aku...) • you'd better finish your homework tonight (mending kamu selesain pr mu) semoga membantu
